Manufactured from only 1915 to 1917, the Model 1915 is the most rare of the Savage pocket automatics, with only about 3,900 manufactured in .380 ACP. The top of the barrel extension is marked with the standard two-line address, patent date, and caliber marking, while the left of the frame has the Savage trademark. It is fitted with the standard blade and notch sights, grip safety, and checkered hard rubber grips with Savage logos. The included factory letter lists a manufacture date of 17 March 1916 and shipment the next day to Bostwick & Braun Co. Also includes a correctly labeled factory box. Provenance: The Bailey Brower, Jr. Collection, author of “Savage Pistols”
Excellent, retains 90% plus of the original blue finish and vibrant case colors on the trigger with some light edge wear and a few scattered patches of light pitting. The grips are also very good showing an attractive chocolate tone, a few scattered light handling marks, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine with some mild wear and tape repairs.
