Manufactured in 1891. German silver blade front and fixed notch rear sights on the correct 24 3/8 inch First Model barrel with first style inscription including the "broken D" in "MANUFACTURED", "22 W.R.F." caliber marking on top flat at the breech, Winchester proofs correctly absent, casehardened First Model solid frame receiver with blued breech bolt, and three-line maker, model, and patent marking on the upper tang. The barrel and receiver have been stamped with British, London proof house "crown/V", "crown/GP", and "rampant lion" proofs on the left side. 12 groove slide handle and plain walnut straight grip stock with matching serial number "6081" stamped on the stock belly, and casehardened crescent buttplate. The accompanying factory letter for this rifle states the serial number was applied on September 17, 1891 and confirms the .22 WRF chambering as well as received in the warehouse on October 10, 1891 and shipped on October 14.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 50% original blue finish, some light edge wear, scattered small scratches, and slide retraction marks visible on the barrel and magazine tube. The receiver has 40% original thinning case colors with the edges mostly silvered, scattered surface spotting, and mostly gray patina on the trigger guard and tangs. The wood is fine with scattered small dings, hairline cracks visible one either side of the toe, and mostly dark patina on the buttplate. Mechanically excellent.
