Description:

This is an example of a DWM Model 1900 American Eagle marked with the "American Eagle" seal of the United States. Manufactured in a serial number range of 2,000-19,000, the Model 1900 was DWM's first true commercial production Luger, and the American Eagle variant was intended specifically for the lucrative United States market. These Lugers have the early features such as a grip safety, recessed breech bolt, dished toggles with toggle lock on the side, full serial number located on the front of the frame and underside of the barrel with the last two digits of the serial number on the face of the recoil lug, takedown lever, side plate, breech bolt, toggle assembly, side of the grip safety and the underside of the left grip panel, with the right grip panel unnumbered although it appears to be original to the gun. The pistol has a deep rust blue finish with the grip screws, front sight blade, and connecting pins heat blued and the extractor, toggle link, ejector, takedown lever, trigger, magazine release, and thumb safety lever with a straw color finish. It is fitted with walnut checkered grips, and it has an unmarked magazine with a nickel plated body and walnut base. "GERMANY" is marked on the front of the frame. Includes a George Lawrence brown leather holster marked "14" and "GEO. LAWRENCE CO./STEERHIDE/PORTLAND, ORE." and "30 L" on the back.

Rating Definition:

Fine, retains 50% original blue finish with smooth gray and brown patina on the balance, and sharp markings and edges in the metal overall. Grips are very good with some light wear towards the bottom and otherwise defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. Holster is very good.
