Description:

Established in 1816 by President James Madison, Frankford Arsenal was the center of small arms ammunition design and development until it was closed in 1977. The 1,000-round hardwood crate has various Frankford Arsenal markings on it in black and red paint and is marked "PISTOL POWDER NO. 1, LOT NO. 6 OF 1913". There is a label attached to the lid addressed to Mr. Johnston De Forest of Long Island, New York. The crate contains thirteen 20-round boxes of Frankford Arsenal labeled .45 ACP ammunition, all of which appear full and factory sealed.

Rating Definition:

Fine, the crate shows moderate handling and storage wear with mostly clear painted markings. The cartridge boxes are all very fine with some mild wear and the labels remaining intact with clear markings. A rare collectible that would fit well in any U.S. military or Model 1911 collection!
