Only a few of these were manufactured before it became the Model 24 in 1957. This revolver was built circa 1954 on the five screw N frame and equipped with Patridge front sight and a micrometer click rear sight. This revolver features a casehardened checkered hammer and serrated trigger, six round fluted cylinder, and checkered diamond grips with S&W medallions. Includes a matching numbered factory maroon box with white end label reading "SMITH & WESSON/1950 MODEL 45 TARGET" along with the special order "44" caliber marking factory stamped in faded purple ink just below.

Excellent overall, retaining 98% plus original blue finish with minor handling evidence, slight cylinder drag line, and sharp grip checkering. The box is fine with some edge wear. Mechanically excellent.
