Blued Winchester Proof Steel marked barrels with a dual white bead sights on the matted vent rib which is marked "CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER" with the original owner's name professionally removed, standard barrel markings, chokes marked "MOD"/"FULL", and 3 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The blued boxlock action displays upgraded 21-1 pattern floral scroll engraving in multiple wedges and patches across all sides and continuing on top the toplever, upper tang, and the triggerguard. The gun features a single selective gold trigger and a tang mounted manual safety switch. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered beavertail forend with engraved fittings and ebony tip insert, and pistol grip stock with exceptional feather crotch figure, blued steel grip cap, and a leather wrapped recoil pad. The included factory letter lists the current gauge, barrel length, chokes, chambers, vent rib, beavertail forend, and pistol grip when the inspection was completed on March 9th, 1970, for a Phillip Hull. Also includes a wood and leather takedown case with Winchester label, nickel oiler, cleaning tools, and two nickel snap caps. Very fine as custom embellished to its current configuration, retaining 98% factory blue finish with minor handling evidence on the metal. The wood is very good with some chipping along the edges, a few light marks, added recoil pad, and overall sharp checkering. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent.
