The rib has a dovetailed German silver blade front sight, blued dovetailed notch rear sight, and "TANNER IN HANNOVER" signed on the breech section. The locks and furniture are bright and have scroll engraving. "2378" is marked on the bottom of the left barrel and breech plug, and "No 2378" is inscribed on the toe of the buttplate. The right trigger is a single set trigger. The locks included rotating hammer stalls. The stock has a checkered wrist, nice cheekpiece, and a 14 3/8 inch length of pull.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 98% plus of the period refurbished brown finish and distinct Damascus twist patterns on the barrels, crisp markings and engraving, mostly silver-gray patina on the locks and furniture, and minor overall wear including some faint traces of pitting. The stock is also fine and has crisp checkering, a few small repairs, minor edge wear, a sliver absent along the right side of the forend, and mild scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent.
