Manufactured c. 1720. Charles Haywood was apprenticed to Richard Lawrence in 1710. These pistols are an interesting Queen Anne variation with removable sidelocks rather than the more common boxlock format with the lock and breech plate formed as one piece, but they still have the distinctive Queen Anne style frizzen spring and screw-off barrels with cannon style muzzles. The breech sections have private proof and view marks offset to the left and "BOUGHTON" marked on top. The locks are signed "HAYWOOD" and have scroll and border engraving. The lion mask pommel caps, wrist escutcheons, and classical martial themed side plates are all silver. The stocks have scroll and shell carving at the breeches.

Very good with mostly silver-gray patina, some minor oxidation/pitting, attractive aged patina on the silver, and mild wear. The stock is fine and has some scratches and dings, a spliced repair above the lock, and nice carving. Mechanically fine.
