Description:

The Amerigo Vespucci is a traditional tall ship used by the Italian Navy as a training vessel. The ship was built in 1930 and launched February 22, 1931. Besides the modern appointments required by international maritime law, the ship is largely equipped with traditional features such as hemp rigging and canvas sails. The ship is painted black with two white lines referring to the two gun decks found on ships the Amerigo Vespucci draws its influence from. Throughout the ship's career, it has been referred to by other military vessels as "The Most Beautiful Ship in the World" due to its striking black and white paint. Included with the ship is a display table measuring 55x22x27 inches, a glass top to protect the ship, and a plaque listing the completion date as August, 2006. This is a museum quality ship model.
