Description:

This great western bronze depicts a frontiersman as he makes his way down a mountain with his team of three horses. The group of travelers are packed to the brim with the necessary items for survival in the unforgiving American West. The rider, who is on the rear horse, clutches to his Hawken rifle in his left hand as he watches his lead and middle horses slip and slide down the steep embankment. The work measures 26x19x36 inches. Included with the bronze is a wooden pedestal with an affixed brass plaque giving information on the story of the bronze.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with limited storage and handling marks as well as an attractive patina. The pedestal is also very fine with some wear on the surface where the bronze rests. This work of art is a true embodiment of the perils of life on the frontier.
