Manufactured circa 1897. Blade front and 500 meter tangent rear sights, with the top of the chamber marked "WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF A/N", the left side is marked with a "crown/crown/U" German test proof, and an Oberndorf antler proof on the right flat. Matching numbers are present on the frame, hammer, bolt, follower, floorplate, rear sight, takedown stud, and the ribbed grip panels.

Fine, with 60% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, bright edge wear, mild spotting, and scattered scratches and dings. The grips are very good, with some verdigris buildup and minor scratches. Mechanically excellent.
