Manufactured from the late 1830s to the 1850s. Small frame version with the five shot barrel cluster marked "R-C" on the face. Matching numbers on frame, face of barrel cluster and head of barrel cluster screw. Fitted with two-piece bag shaped varnished grips with German silver screw escutcheons. Complete with a partitioned wooden case lined in green velvet, a bullet mold, an iron ramrod, and a double face powder flask.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The pepperbox retains 70% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The grips are also very fine with a long scratch present on the right panel and a few minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with numerous minor handling marks and the lock escutcheon missing. The lining shows minor wear.
