Blued steel barrels with a beaded blade front sight with a flip-up moon bead and adjustable sliding rear sight on the smooth solid rib which is marked "J. Nowotny k.k. priv Hof = Waffenfabrik in Prag" in fancy script, floral engraving at the breech, and 1891 proof for guns built before the proof law. The casehardened hammer back action displays extensive deep relief Germanic scroll and game scenes with roe deer, red deer, hounds, and boars. The trigger guard bears a royal coronet over the initials "GA". The rifle features rebounding hammers, dual single set triggers, and a tang mounted flip-up peep sight. Nicely figured, checkered forend with horn underlever and engraved fittings and stock with horn pistol grip, raised cheekpiece, and steel trapdoor buttplate with serial number. Length of pull 13 3/4 inches. Weight 7 lbs. 4 oz.

Very good, retaining 40% original blue finish, attractive silver patina on the receiver and locks, some discoloration around the fences, and moderate handling evidence. The revarnished wood is also very good with numerous dings and scratches, some insect damage in the horn, and faded smooth checkering. Mechanically excellent.
