Description:

Manufactured in Germany in the 1920s and imported to the U.S., this Luger Carbine has a shoulder stock and an extra-long barrel; a number of period commercial firms would offer Lugers with longer than standard barrels. Has features of the 1902 Luger Carbine as well as the Artillery Luger, with a ramp blade front sight and tangent rear sight. Commercial "crown/N" proofs on multiple parts, "GERMANY" on left side rail and barrel underside, "DWM" on front toggle link, "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" on upper safety position and extractor, and "127" on the frame and tangent rear sight and "54" serial numbers on the other components. A mounting iron (sans accelerator assembly) is mounted on the frame ahead of the trigger guard, checkered Schnabel tip forearm, wood magazine base (unmarked except for a "flaming bomb" style proof), and a hardwood buttstock with checkered wrist, checkered horn buttplate, and unmarked mounting iron.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 85% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, bright edge wear, scattered spotting, and mild handling marks. The furniture is fine, with some cracking of the forearm and grip panels, a loose chip in the left panel near the safety, and some chipping and filler in the otherwise very fine stock near the iron, with all parts showing good checkering. Mechanically excellent.
