Description:

Manufactured circa 1915-1917, these Lugers were produced in England for military export to the Netherlands. While neutral in the First World War, many of these pistols saw hard use at sea with the Royal Netherlands Navy, which continued to fight on in World War II even after the loss of their home ports to the Germans and their East Indies bases to the Japanese. Fixed sights, with the "VICKERS/LTD" marking on the toggle link, "RUST" safety marking, "GELADEN" on the extractor and "C/69" on the right of the frame. A brass plate marked "Mgd. Tmi./147" is installed on the left of the frame. London "GP", "V" and "NP" proofs are present on many components, with the "crown/W" acceptance stamp on the left of the barrel extension. Arsenal replacement side plate and unnumbered right grip panel with matching numbers visible on the remaining components.

Rating Definition:

Fine, retains 70% arsenal refurbished blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, edge wear, and some scattered patches of light pitting. Grips are very good with an arsenal replacement right panel, a small chipped/absent section at the top rear of the left panel, and some light handling marks with otherwise defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.
