Description:

Manufactured by Douglas L. Oefinger of Stamford, Connecticut, this is a close copy of the Colt MG38B machine gun. Itself a copy of the Model 1917 Browning Machine Gun, the 38B was intended for export sale, with customers including Argentina and Norway. Blade front and ladder rear sights, with a set of Colt style markings on the side of the right sideplate and the DLO marking on the underside. The water jacket is full steel construction, with a set of hardwood spade grips and a thumb trigger with manual safety.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 60% of the blue finish, showing areas of scattered oxidization, thinning blue on the receiver, a pattern of bright spots on the right sideplate, and scattered handling marks. The grips are good, with some scuffing and chipping. The mechanism is a bit stiff, but appears to be in fine working order. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
