Saginaw took over production in Grand Rapids and marked the facilities M1 Carbines S’G’ on the receiver to differentiate them from the ones made at the original Saginaw, Michigan plant. Blade front sight, "S" and "RG-S'G'" marked flip-up rear sight with an "8-1943" dated Buffalo Arms subcontracted barrel, unmarked Type I barrel band, "SG" flat top bolt, "SAGINAW S'G'" marked receiver, "S'G'" milled trigger guard, "E-S'G'" push button safety, "IP B" magazine catch and "S'G'" operating rod. High wood stock with a two-rivet handguard, boxed "S'G'" and Ordnance cartouche stamped on the right of the buttstock, "RSG" stamped in the sling inlet, and oval oiler cut. Includes an olive drab green canvas sling and oiler.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retains 97% original parkerized finish with some light cycling wear, original blue finish showing beneath the parkerized finish on the barrel and bolt body, and sharp markings and edges in the metal overall. 99% original blue finish remains on the magazine. Stock is very fine with attractive raised grain, some light handling marks and a few small chips, and distinct edges. Mechanically excellent.
