Blued Poldi steel barrels with a ramped beaded blade front sight, two position (one standing, one folding) rear sight, and German claw mounts holding a J. Unertl 2 3/4x Falcon scope on the matted solid rib. The barrels are marked "Aug. Rickelt." and "Dortmund" on the right and left respectively, show light engraving at the breech, and bear correct era pre-war German proofs. The casehardened boxlock action features interesting large wide set bolsters narrowing to the watertable creating a very unorthodox but attractive look. The action displays scroll engraving with floral bouquets with matting on the top of the action and toplever. The gun features double single set triggers, cocking indicators, and a Greener safety with gold inlaid "S". Very nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings, including the Deeley release, and pistol grip stock with black diamond inlaid drop points, horn grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, and red rubber recoil pad. Length of pull 14 inches. Weight 7 lbs. 15 oz. with scope.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retaining 90% professionally reapplied blue with some rubbing/loss at the left chamber, 50% original case colors with the balance an attractive grey silver patina, some wear to the gold on the triggers, and overall light handling evidence. There are small cracks on the left stock head and left of the forend at the shoe as well as some chipping at the end of the upper tang, otherwise the wood is very good with scattered marks and sharp freshed checkering. Scope optics are clear. Mechanically excellent.
