There are British proofs on the left of the slide, frame, and chamber hood of the barrel. The included factory letter lists that the pistol was accepted from the factory and shipped on 4 March 1920 to Samuel Weinhaus Company. It has standard features and is fitted with a pair of checkered hard rubber grips with Savage logos at the tops. This pistol is pictured on p. 118 of "Savage Pistols" by Bailey Brower, Jr. Provenance: The Bailey Brower, Jr. Collection, author of “Savage Pistols”

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 80% plus of the original blue finish with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey patina, primarily on the grip straps and on edges. The grips are also very fine with some scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
