This is one of 30,000-40,000 Model 1907 pistols produced by Savage under contract for the French government. It is fitted with blade and notch sights, a lanyard loop on the butt, and a pair of Savage logo, checkered, hard rubber grips. The included factory letter lists shipment on 26 October 1916 to l'Administration de'l'Arsenal de l'Armes. Provenance: The Bailey Brower, Jr. Collection, author of “Savage Pistols”

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 75% plus of the original blue finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on high spots. The grips are also very fine with a few scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
