Description:

This Drilling is in the "Doppelbuchsdrilling" configuration, two upper rifle barrels and one lower shotgun barrel. The rifle barrels are 35 caliber and the shotgun barrel is a 28 gauge with a 3 inch chamber and choke measured .034 inches. The top of the right barrel is marked "JULES BURY" and the left barrel is marked "WAFFEN-FRANKONIA-WUR/BURG" and "ARQSIRE A LIEGE". The underside of the upper barrel flats and the bottom of the bottom barrel are marked with several Belgian proof marks, the matching serial number, and ".35 W" on each rifle barrel, quite possibly for .35 Winchester. The barrels are blue and the remaining parts are coin finished. Blade front and dovetailed fixed rear sights on the solid matte rib with ejectors. Boxlock action with side plates. The action is finely engraved with fine scroll patterns and floral accents. The left side depicts two red stags with antlers locked in a wooded scene, the right side has two boars fighting in a wooded scene and there is a bugling red stag in a wooded scene on the bottom. The right sideplate has a boar in a wooded scene and a bugling red stag in a wooded scene on the left side. The toplever has a snipe in flight and the lower tang has a hind eating from a tree branch. All the engraving is finely executed and finely detailed. There is a relief crown on the bottom of the trigger guard. The same fine scroll pattern extends to the trigger guard and forearm hardware. Cross bolt, tang mounted safety with gold markings, double triggers and mounted with a checkered walnut forearm and straight grip stock with tear drop flats and serrated bare butt. Length of pull 14 inches. Weight 8 lbs. 6 oz.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The barrels retain 98% original blue finish which is thinning to a smooth plum color in places and showing a few minor handling marks. The remaining parts retain almost all of the original coin finish with some areas aged to a smooth dull gray. The wood is very fine with moderate wear to the checkering and overall scattered minor dings and scratches. The markings and engraving are clear. Mechanically excellent. This is an extremely high quality, combination gun that is truly unique in a desirable 28 gauge as it's secondary chamber!
