Approximately 48,000 of the 3rd Model Derringers were manufactured c. 1870-1912. This example was sent through Colt's London Agency and has London proofs and beautiful and extensive custom scroll engraving, a gold inlaid band at the muzzle, a silver blade front sight, gold inlaid "-COLT-" marking on top of the barrel, and "41 CAL" and "C/Rampant Colt" on the left side of the frame.

Exceptionally fine as elaborately custom embellished with 98% plus of the niter blue finish on the barrel and trigger, bright gold inlays, some minor pitting on the breech face of the barrel, strong original case colors on the hammer, aged patina on the frame and crisp engraving. The grips are very fine and have minor handling and storage marks. Mechanically fine.
