Description:

A modern production item, this is a museum quality, 1:1 scale reproduction of the classic Gatling Gun. One of the earliest proper repeating firearms and forerunner to the true "fully automatic" machine gun, the crank powered Gatling Gun was a signature weapon of the 19th century, readily identifiable and world famous. This example is outfitted for use with the Broadwell Drum, a cylindrical magazine that is essentially 12 vertical magazines joined together for a 216 round capacity. Constructed from brass and steel, the caliber markings are present on the side rails, with a reproduction "Gatling's Battery Gun" plaque with maker's marks on top of the receiver, and a set of instructions/warnings on top of the magazine base. A manual safety has been added to the design, installed on the rear of the receiver. Included with the lot are three total modern production Broadwell drums, a wood and steel tripod with integral traverse swivel and elevation arm, and two modern transport cases.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The steel components show 95% plus original blue finish and the brass shows a mixed patina, with light handling marks overall and some "handprint" staining and verdigris on the brass. The tripod is fine, with mild wear. Mechanically excellent.
