 CONDITION: Excellent, to near mint. The revolver retains 99% of the original nickel plated finish. The intricate and flawlessly executed Germanic scroll engraving remains extremely sharp. All of the markings and serial numbers are perfect. The action functions perfectly. The grips are in very fine condition, re-glued interior screw escutcheon and the relief carved steer head is sharp. The grips show slight
shrinkage and are slightly yellowed with a few hairline age cracks in the. This is a magnificent example of a
nickel plated Single Action revolver, factory engraved by Master Engraver Wilbur A. Glahn and fitted with
factory relief carved steer head grips. Estimate: 45,000 - 70,000

According to The Book of Colt Firearms by Wilson, of the 357,859 1st Generation Single Actions manufactured,
   Only about 1,000 were factory engraved.
