SS 1936 Pattern Officers Dagger with Chained Sheath - Introduced in 1936, the new pattern of SS dagger supplemented the original 1933 dagger with the caveat that the ‘36 pattern was intended specifically for those considered to be an “SS Man”, an officer
or a minimum 3-year enlisted veteran. Measuring 13 5/8 inches overall with the 8 5/8 inch double edged spear point blade showing the acid etched “Meine Ehre heisst Treue” (My Honor is Loyalty) motto on the obverse and no visible makers marks on the back; while not documented, unmarked SS paraphernalia is sometimes noted as being made “in-house” by SS-controlled companies and facilities, such as the “Reichs Training Smithy” run out of the Dachau concentration camp. Nickel-finished alloy cross guard and hilt, with the SS rune medallion and national eagle inlaid into the ebony grip. The sheath is black enamel finished with nickel fittings showcasing the distinctive swastika patterned middle band and chain hanger (two links front, four links back) with recurring “SS” and “totenkopf” motifs on the front and the “intertwined rune” acceptance mark on the back of one of the links.
CONDITION: Very good, with a chip absent from the grip near the SS medallion, some minor bubbling of the nickel finish, and light handling marks.

Scarce World War II German Luftwaffe ll/JG 51 Scarf -
This World War II Luftwaffe sweetheart type scarf measures roughly 35 x 26 inches and features Jagdgeschwader 51 (JG 51) hawk head insignia and ll Gruppe JG 51 raven insignia. JG 51 formed in 1939, received the nickname Mölders after legendary ace and wing commander Werner Mölders (1913-1941), was the most awarded fighter wing of the Luftwaffe in World War II, flew Messerschmitt Bf 109s and later Focke-Wulf Fw 190s in all major theaters from 1939 to 1945, and was credited with over 8,000 aerial victories. Gruppen 1, III and IV served mainly in Russia while Gruppen II was transferred to the Mediterranean theater in November 1942 and later in 1943 was assigned to deter the Allied bombing offensive, including covering the Polesti oil fields.
CONDITION: Fine, with most of the vivid colors remaining. A scarce piece of aviation history tied to one of the most famous WWII Luftwaffe fighter wings.
