 Rare Variation of One of Colt's Most Popular Percussion Pistols
 CONDITION: Fine with most of the age darkened original silver plating on the grip frame, 40% original blue on the barrel, patterns of original case colors, smooth gray and brown patina on the balance, some minor oxidation, and general mild wear associated with age. The wedge spring is broken, and the wedge screw is a later replacement. The barrel marking and cylinder scene remain distinct. The engraving is crisp throughout. The grip is very fine and retains the vast majority of the original varnish and has a few dents and scratches and minor edge wear. Mechanically excellent. The relined case and accessories are mostly very good with general light age and storage related wear. B) Colt 1851 Navy Revolver - Serial no. 12155, 36 cal., 7 1/2 inch octagon bbl., blue/casehardened/silver finish, highly figured varnished walnut grips. As described in “A”.
CONDITION: Fine with crisp engraving throughout, most of the age darkened original silver plating on the grip frame with limited loss mainly at the heel, 50% original blue finish on the barrel with some fading to a smooth brown patina, blued and slightly bent loading lever, light traces of original case colors on the frame and hammer and otherwise a smoky gray patina, mix of gray and brown patina on the cylinder which has a partially faded scene and
a mix of flattened and complete safety pins, and mild overall wear mostly associated with age and storage. The grip is very fine and retains the vast majority of the original glossy varnish and has some light dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. This is a beautiful pair of two closely serialized Colt Model 1851 Navy revolvers with the early donut scroll factory engraving that will add value and interest to any antique Colt collection.
