U.S. Smith & Wesson
First Model Schofield
Single Action Revolver
- Serial no. 2100, 45 S&W Schofield cal., 7 inch solid rib bbl.,
blue finish, walnut grips. Only 3,035 First Model Schofield revolvers were manufactured, all in 1875. 3,000 were
purchased by the U.S. Government for use in
the West, 35 were sold on the civilian market.
Many were altered and used by Wells, Fargo &
Co. This example has “US” marked on the butt,
cylinder numbered to a different gun (“6653”),
and U.S. Ordnance stamps “L” and “P” on the
underside of the barrel lug. This revolver is
from the collection of world famous American
country singer and song writer Hank Williams Jr.
and includes a certificate of authenticity confirming his ownership.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 80% reapplied blue finish with the balance a
smooth gray patina. The grips are also fine with minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Hank Williams Jr.’s Collection.

No. 3 Single Action Target
Revolver - Serial no. 32138, 44 S&W Russian cal., 6 1/2 inch solid
rib bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Introduced in 1878. Matching
serial numbers on the barrel, barrel latch, cylinder, right grip panel,
and butt. Factory rework star on the butt and “1.17” (January 1917) factory return date under left grip. Pinned Patridge blade front sight and adjustable rear sight. This revolver is from the collection of country music icon Hank Williams Jr. and includes a certificate of authenticity confirming
his ownership.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 80% plus factory reapplied blue finish with loss concentrated on the cylinder and grip straps as well as a cylinder drag line. The grips are also very fine with light handling evidence and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Action Revolver with Rare 6
Inch Barrel - Serial no. 5436, 44 American cal.,
6 inch solid rib bbl., nickel finish, walnut grips. Only 8,000 of these revolvers were manufactured in 1870-1872. Standard markings
and features other than the rare 6 inch barrel, which is also found on the Nashville, TN police 1st Model Americans. Many of these were carried by western icons including Buffalo Bill Cody as a showman and allegedly Wyatt Earp at the shootout at the O.K. Corral. This revolver was owned by country music icon Hank Williams Jr. and includes a certificate of authenticity confirming his ownership.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 99% factory quality reapplied nickel finish, minor handling
evidence, and faint
cylinder drag line. The
wood is very good with
some shrinkage, a few
scratches, and some

No. 3 Single Action Revolver - Serial no. 18815, 44 S&W
Russian cal., 6 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., nickel finish, hard rubber grips. Introduced in 1878. Matching serial numbers on the barrel, barrel
latch, right grip panel, and butt. The cylinder bears no serial number but is marked with a “.” on the cylinder face and extractor star, likely meaning that this was a factory replacement. Factory refinish star on the butt and “10.11” (October, 1911) factory return date under left grip. This revolver is from the collection of country music icon Hank Williams Jr. and includes a certificate of authenticity confirming his ownership.
CONDITION: Excellent as factory refinished, retaining 98% nickel finish, light handling evidence, and some areas showing light frosting. The grips are very good with brown discoloration and well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Desirable Smith & Wesson Model 320 Revolving Rifle Stock - Offered here is a S&W walnut stock extension designed for use with S&W Model 320 Revolving Rifle. It has blued attaching hardware and a checkered S&W hard rubber buttplate.
CONDITION: Fine overall, showing areas of brown patina on the hardware with some pitting, numerous dings and scratches on the wood, and some minor chipping on the buttplate.

Model Number Three
Revolver with Special Order 8 Inch Barrel - Serial no. 33925, 44
S&W cal., 8 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Introduced
in 1878, the S&W New Model Three came factory standard in a 6 1/2
inch barrel and fixed sights, but longer barrels and more accurate sights were
available on a special order basis. This example has an special order 8 inch barrel,
the longest available from the factory, and is fitted with a one-piece ramp Patridge
blade replacement front sight and an adjustable square notch rear sight on the barrel latch, with the
one-line Springfield address on top of the rib and “+44 S.&W. CTG+” on the left side, casehardened
hammer and trigger, and period custom replaced checkered hardwood grips.
CONDITION: Very fine as partially refinished/period customized with 90% of the blue finish, showing
bright gray along the high edges, a mixed brown and gray patina on the grip straps and mild handling marks overall. The cylinder is refinished. The barrel latch is unnumbered and the barrel is only numbered “9”, though the finish is comparable in age and wear to the frame; if they are replacement parts, the replacement was done early in the revolvers service life. Grips are very fine with a few dings and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,250 - 3,750
