Fitch Shipped Pre-World War II
Colt Super .38 Semi-Automatic
Pistol with Factory Letter - Serial
no. 10106, 38 super auto cal., 5
inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in
1930/1931, these Super .38 pistols were first shown to the
public at the August 1928 Camp Perry National Matches, and
were available for purchase by the start of 1929. The left side
of the slide is marked with the two-line address and patent
dates while the right side bears the caliber marking along
with the Rampant Colt. The serial number is on the right of the
frame, the left of the trigger guard is marked “1” over “VP”, and
the right of the trigger guard is marked “60”. Fitted with blade
and notch sights, wide checkered hammer, long grip safety,
arched checkered mainspring housing, checkered walnut grips, and a two-tone .38 Super Auto magazine. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration (grips not listed) as well as shipment to Abercrombie & Fitch in New York on 7 January 1931.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus of the original blue finish with some scattered light edge wear, numerous scattered light scratches, and a noticeable semi-circular takedown mark. The grips are also very fine with a few minor flat spots and otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Pre-World War II Colt Super .38
Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no.
13416, 38 super auto cal., 5 inch
round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips.
Manufactured in 1931, these Super .38 pistols were first shown
to the public at the August 1928 Camp Perry National Matches,
and were available for purchase by the start of 1929. The left side
of the slide is marked with the two-line address and patent dates while the right
side bears the caliber marking along with the Rampant Colt. The serial number is
on the right of the frame, the left of the trigger guard is marked “1” over “VP”, and
the right of the trigger guard is marked “60”. Fitted with blade and notch sights, wide checkered hammer, long grip safety, arched checkered mainspring housing, checkered grips, and a two-tone .38 Super Auto magazine.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retains 90% plus of the original blue finish with
extensive scattered scratches and specks of very light pitting. The grips are excellent with a few scattered light blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Colt Model 1902 Military
Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial
no. 35955, 38 Colt auto cal.,
6 inch round bbl., blue finish,
hard rubber grips. Manufactured in 1913, this Military Model of 1902
pistol exhibits the mid-production high polish blue finish. The left side
of the slide is marked with the two-line patent dates and two-line address
arranged in two blocks with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations. The right side
of the slide has the two-line caliber marking, “AUTOMATIC COLT/CALIBRE 38 RIMLESS
SMOKELESS”. The left side of the frame has the serial number and “VP” and “1” on the
left of the trigger guard. It is fitted with blade and rounded top notch sights, a lanyard
swivel on the lower left of the grip frame, checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant
Colts and “COLT” banners, and an unmarked full blue magazine.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 60% plus of the bright original high polish blue finish, faint
traces of the age-darkened case colors, and 50% of the original nitre blue on the trigger with
the balance mostly a smooth grey-brown patina, primarily on high spots and handling areas. The grips are very good with a few scattered light handling marks, a light chip in the bottom of the left panel, and well- defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Very Fine 1919 Production Colt Government
Model Semi-Automatic Pistol with Factory
Letter - Serial no. C110794, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch
round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured
in 1919, this is a very fine example of a pre-World
War II commercial Colt Government Model pistol. The left side of the slide has the two-line, two-block address/patent dates separated by the Rampant Colt, and the right side has the caliber marking. The left of the trigger guard is marked “VP” and “5” while the right is marked “C”. The right side of the frame has the Government Model marking over the serial number. It has
the “old model” features including the long smooth trigger, wide checkered hammer, non-dished frame, and smooth flat mainspring housing with a lanyard loop. The barrel has a polished chamber and is marked “S” in front of the lug. Fitted with diamond pattern checkered grips and an unmarked two- tone magazine. The included copy of the factory letter confirms the current configuration (grips not listed) as well as shipment to Simmons Hardware Co. in St. Louis on 13 June 1919.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus of the original blue finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on edges near the muzzle and around the ejector port. The grips are also very fine with minimal handling marks, four deep period applied cut grooves visible in the butt of the right panel, and crisp checkering overall Mechanically excellent.

Colt Government Model Semi-Automatic
Pistol with Factory Letter - Serial no. C5269, 45
ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1913,
the second year of production for the commercial Government Model. This
particular example exhibits the early production lustrous high polish blue
finish and nitre blue small parts and the “GOVERNMENT MODEL” marking
on the front right of the frame which is rarely seen on pistols over serial
number C5000. The slide on this pistol bears the two-line, two-block address
and patent markings on the left side with the Rampant Colt behind the
serrations. The right of the slide has the caliber markings. “VP” and “R” are on
the trigger guard. The early four-digit serial number is located on the right
of the frame. The barrel has a polished chamber and “P” on the bottom in
front of the lug. Fitted with fixed blade and notch sights, a set of diamond
pattern checkered grips, and an unmarked two-tone magazine with lanyard
ring base. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration (grips not listed) as well as shipment to Shelton Payne Arms Company in El Paso, Texas on 25 August 1918. Shelton Payne Arms was a known supplier of vast quantities of arms and ammunition to all sides involved in the Mexican Revolution, which was raging at the
time this pistol was shipped.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 50% of the bright original high polish blue finish and 30% of the original nitre blue with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on high spots from being holstered and the grip straps. Chamber hood on the barrel is polished bright. The grips are very good with some scattered minor dings and scratches, a sizable flat spot in the left panel, and otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Excellent Pre-World War II Colt Vest Pocket Model 1908 Pistol with Original Box - Serial no. 383476, 25 ACP cal., 2 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1930 with standard two-line address/patent dates and Rampant Colt on the left of the slide, caliber marking on the right, serial number on the left of the frame, “3/VP” and “99” marked trigger guard, and standard features. Includes the original Colt maroon box and brochure.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% plus of the original blue finish and 90% plus of the original case colors with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on top forward slide, and a few scattered patches of very light pitting. The grips are also excellent with a few scattered light blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
