Rare Factory Error Colt
Government Model
Semi-Automatic Pistol

ACP cal., 5 inch round
bbl., blue finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1950. Standard markings. This unique, factory error Government Model semi-automatic pistol features all of the standard features, except that it was quite uniquely manufactured without slide serrations.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 85% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks mostly consisting of holster wear at the muzzle and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. Writer has never seen another example.

Pistol - Serial no. 8291-NM, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round
bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1961, this
pistol was presented to Lloyd C. Hummert in 1962 for his
feat of scoring 284 points and becoming the civilian winner
at the 1962 National Trophy Individual Pistol Match. The pistol features
the standard “NATIONAL/*MATCH* COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBER .45” marking on the left of the slide with the right side reading “CIVILIAN WINNER/1962 National Trophy Individual Pistol Match”. Besides the slide marking, the pistol has standard National Match features.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% plus original blue finish with a few minor handling marks and crisp grip
checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Robby Shipley Special

Commander Series 70 Semi-
Automatic Pistol - Serial no.
70BS36110, 45 ACP cal., 4 1/4 inch round bbl., nickel
finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in the 1970s by the Colt
Custom Shop as part of a special run of guns specifically for
Robby Shipley of the Shipley Donut Company, Houston, Texas.
It is believed that Shipley gifted the guns to friends and associates and about 100 were made. The pistol is equipped with a Gold Cup trigger and has standard Colt factory markings with the addition of “ROBBY SHIPLEY SPECIAL” on the right side of the frame.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 90% plus original nickel finish with dark spotting visible on the frame, frosting on the polished surfaces, and some wear to the checkering.
Mechanically excellent..

Gold Cup National Match Semi-Automatic
Pistol Serial Number 70N99999 with
Factory Letter - Serial no. 70N99999, 45 ACP
cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, plastic grips. Manufactured
in 1981, this is the last Gold Cup National Match Model “O” pistol produced by Colt. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration (grips not listed) as well as shipment to
Keith Crowley, Vice-President at Colt
Firearms Division on 1 June 1981.
The letter goes on to state that the
gun was built by assembler Manuel
Bello, inspected by Frank Batsie,
and targeted by Charles Frederick, a
target of which is also included. It also
states that the trigger pull, magazine
adjustment, and muzzle crowning
was performed by Bob Beaucage. An
included letter from Keith Crowley
states that this pistols was the last
Model “O” gun manufactured. A sales
receipt of Crowley’s purchase is also
included. The pistol itself has standard
markings and features apart from the contoured bakelite target style grips.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 98% plus of the original blue finish with a few scattered light handling marks, some light brown spotting on the sides of the hammer, and some scattered grease residue. The grips are fine with a few cracks near the upper screws on each side and otherwise minimal handling evidence. Mechanically excellent.

Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 291205-C, 45
ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, smooth grips. Manufactured in 1962. Standard markings and features with the non-factory inscription “PRESENTED BY/MILITARY ORDER OF WORLD WARS/ TO MIDSHIPMAN/CORAL VANCE SCHUFELDT/CLASS OF 1964 U.S.NA./FOR GREATEST IMPROVEMENT IN WEIGHTED AVERAGE MARK/OF LAST YEAR OF COURSE OVER THAT
OF COMBINED FIRST TWO YEARS/JUNE-1963”. Coral Vance Schufeldt was a recipient of the silver star for his actions as a pilot during the Vietnam War when his fighter detachment came under heavy anti-aircraft fire on October 25, 1967.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 95% plus blue finish on the slide, 90% refinished blue on the
frame with a few small patches of light pitting
and handling marks. Grips are fine with an
attractive aged coloration and age cracks in the right grip. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Gus Cargile Collection. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750

Excellent Colt National Match 38 Special Mid Range Semi-Automatic
Pistol - Serial no. 1143MR, 38 special cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish,
checkered walnut grips. Manufactured in 1961. Excellent example of a National
Match Mid Range Model 1911 style pistol chambered especially for use with .38 Special wad-cutter ammunition. Features BO-MAR fully adjustable rear sight and a high profile serrated fixed front sight, serrated adjustable trigger and hammer and checkered walnut grips with the Colt
gold medallions.
CONDITION: Excellent 98% original finish with some very minor scratches and slight sharp edge wear at the muzzle end of the slide. The grips are near new with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,200 - 1,600
