Excellent Dardick Model 1500 Autoloading .38 Revolver with Desirable .22 Rifle Conversion Unit, Extra Barrel, Ammunition, and Boxes - Serial no. 1093, 38 cal., 6 inch round bbl., blue/black finish, walnut stock, plastic grips. Manufactured circa 1958-1962, the Dardick 1500 uses a novel combination of a fixed in-grip magazine, an open-sided auto-ejecting three chamber cylinder and a proprietary plastic-cased triangular cartridge dubbed the “tround”. This combination permits an ammunition capacity inline with an automatic pistol while retaining the simple reliability of a revolver. Additionally, the barrel is secured with a single threaded bolt and can be rapidly detached or swapped. Includes a desirable 21 inch barreled full-stocked .22 caliber rifle conversion unit with it’s own unnumbered factory long box. Also includes an unnumbered blue factory pistol box, an extra 4 inch .38 barrel, two Dardick sales brochures, a 100-round “brick” of five full Dardick .38 tround boxes, and two loose boxes for a total of 126 live trounds and 3 deactivated trounds in total. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 90% original blue finish on the barrel with some light chips concentrated on the middle right and underside. Frame retains 90% of the original black finish with some flaking on the left around the loading gate, and some light edge wear. Grips are very fine with some light finish wear. Scratches and chips on the follower. Mechanically excellent. Rifle conversion kit is excellent overall with 98% original blue finish on the barrel, 95% original black finish on the frame, and some light handling marks on the wood. Boxes are fine to very fine with some light handling marks and edge wear. Estimate: 6,000 - 9,000
