 Excellent Pearl Gripped Wolf & Klar Style Engraved Colt Double Action Revolvers

Wolf & Klar Shipped, Engraved and Inscribed Colt Army Special Double Action Revolver with Steer Head Carved Pearl Grips and Holster Rig - Serial no. 518518, 38 special cal., 6 inch round bbl., nickel
finish, pearl grips. Manufactured in 1925. The revolver features characteristic and profuse Wolf & Klar zig-zag embellishments in vine and leaf and simple line patterns as
well as a large floral blossom on the side plate. The barrel has the two-line Hartford /patent dates legend on top and the model/caliber marking on the left side. The underside of the barrel is inscribed with the name “FRED T. THOMPSON.” Matching serial numbers on the inside of the frame and crane. Full nickel finish and wearing pearl grips with a relief carved steer head
featuring inlaid stone eyes on the right panel. Includes a H.H. Heiser of Denver leather holster rig consisting of a floral tooled open top holster. The factory letter states the revolver had a 6 inch barrel in .38 caliber, blue finish and checkered wood grips when shipped to famed retailer Wolf & Klar, Fort Worth, Texas, on January 25, 1926.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retaining 97% untouched frosted original nickel plating with slight muzzle wear and a patch of loss at the front of the frame. The custom engraving is crisp. The grips are
excellent with a crisp carving and highly attractive fiery colors. The holster rig is fine. Mechanically excellent. A Wolf & Klar style engraved Colt Army Special Revolver with fantastic relief carved steer head grips will make a great addition to any Colt collection. Provenance: The Doug Ellison Collection.

and Engraved Colt Detective Special Double Action Revolver with Pearl
Grips, Holster and Factory Letter - Serial no. 387023, 38 special cal., 2 inch round bbl., nickel
finish, pearl grips. Manufactured in 1930. The revolver features characteristic and profuse Wolf & Klar zig-zag
embellishments in scrollwork and simple line patterns as well as a large floral blossom on the right side of the frame. The 2 inch barrel is stamped with the caliber/model marking on the
left side and the two-line Hartford address/patent dates marking on the right side. Matching serial numbers on the inside of the frame and crane. Full nickel finish and wearing a set of pearl grips. The Rampant Colt
is marked on the side plate. With a basket weave pattern tooled open top/open toe leather holster. The factory letter confirms the 2 inch barrel and nickel finish. The revolver was shipped
to famed retailer Wolf & Klar of Fort Worth, Texas, on January 24, 1930.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 98% plus original nickel plating with a faint cylinder drag line. The custom engraving is crisp. The grips are also excellent with minimal handling marks and highly attractive fiery colors. The holster is fine. Mechanically excellent. A great work of Wolf & Klar style engraving on a highly desirable pre-war Colt Detective Special revolver.
