Exceptional Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action Carbine - Serial no. 677151B, 44 WCF cal., 20
inch round bbl., blue finish, gumwood stock. Manufactured in 1912 with the Third Model integral dust cover rail and dust cover with serrated edges and a saddle ring on the left side of the receiver. The top

WCF carbines after serial number 125,000. It has a round barrel and full-length magazine with two barrel bands. The front sight has a nickel-silver pinned blade in a block behind the upper barrel band. The second pattern rear sight is of the standard folding ladder type graduated from 0-20. The upper left of the barrel has the standard two-line address and patent dates, as well as the caliber marking near the breech, which is repeated on the bottom of the cartridge elevator. There are Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, model designation and trademark on the upper tang, and serial number on the lower tang. It is mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a trapdoor carbine buttplate containing an included three-piece cleaning rod.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 85% of the original blue finish. The barrel and magazine tube retain 95% of the original blue finish with some edge flaking on the sides of the upper barrel band. There is 60% original blue with scattered finish wear on the sides of the receiver and side plates. The top and bottom of the receiver and the dust cover have nearly all of the original blue finish. Most of the niter blue finish is present on the loading gate. The hammer, loading lever and buttplate have most of the casehardened finish with strong case colors. The barrel and receiver markings are crisp. The stock and forearm are also excellent with most of the original finish and some very minor storage and handling marks concentrated mainly on the right side of the stock wrist. Truly an excellent Winchester Model 1873 lever action carbine! Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection.
Estimate: 8,500 - 13,000
