AAUW Recognizes Vice President of World-Wide Firearms Auction Company as a “Pioneer”
ROCK ISLAND, IL – On Saturday, May 4th Vice President of Rock Island Auction Company, Judith E. Voss, was recognized by the AAUW (American Association University of Women) Davenport/Bettendorf Branch and was presented with the 6th Annual Outstanding Pioneering Woman-In-Business Award.
Ms. Voss has been with Rock Island Auction Company since its inception in 1993 working side-by-side with owner and President Patrick Hogan to grow the company to what it is today, the number one firearms auction house in the world, with gross sales of $47 million in 2012. In a brief speech at the breakfast ceremony, Ms. Voss shared her college and career experience with those in attendance – high school “AAUW scholarship” graduates, their families and AAUW Davenport/Bettendorf branch officials. “I am truly honored to be recognized by the AAUW and look forward to being a part of this amazing organization”, said Ms. Voss.
Founded in 1881, the AAUW has been empowering women as individuals and as a community for more than 130 years; they have worked together as a national grassroots organization to improve the lives of millions of women and their families.
Several scholarships were also presented at the awards breakfast to young women who had recently graduated high school in relation to their continued education and their involvement with the QC IA Davenport-Bettendorf/AAUW.
