Late model with a high blade front sight, Lyman receiver sight. Barrel marked "22 SHORT". Low wall action with "US" and an ordnance mark on the upper tang. Rework "P" in oval on barrel. Forearm sporterized, buttstock cracked in 2 places, with water damage at buttplate and large chip missing and bulge in barrel approximately 7 inches ahead of chamber.
