OD - VERY GOOD- all original parts; none to 30% original finish; original metal surfaces smooth with all edges sharp; clear lettering, numerals and design on metal; wood slightly scratched or bruised.

Description:

Manufactured between 1873 and 1875. This revolver has the 4 1/2" barrel without an ejector rod. One line Colt address on top of barrel, two line, two patent date marking on left side of the frame and "36 CAL" on left side of trigger guard. The cylinder holds 5 rounds and is roll engraved with the stagecoach holdup scene. All visible serial numbers match. Fitted with smooth one piece grips.

Rating Definition:

Good. The metal surfaces have a smooth gray patina with a few scattered minor dings on the barrel and lug. The trigger guard shows some strong traces of the original silver plating in protected areas. The remaining brass has a mellow aged patina. The grips are very good overall despite being ill-fitting along the back strap from shrinkage. Almost all of the varnish remains and there is some minor wear on the lower edges and a few minor dings and dents. The markings are clear and readable. The action is excellent.
