OD - VERY GOOD- all original parts; none to 30% original finish; original metal surfaces smooth with all edges sharp; clear lettering, numerals and design on metal; wood slightly scratched or bruised.

Description:

The barrel has the late M1884 tangent rear sight that is adjustable for both windage and elevation with a blade front sight. The rear of the barrel is correctly marked with the "V and P" proofs over the Eagle Head proof and the top of the breech block is marked "US MODEL 1884". The lock plate is marked with the large American Eagle next to the "US SPRINGFIELD" and the top of the buttplate is marked with the large "US". Full length military version stock with "SWP / 1890" cartouche on left side.

OE - GOOD - some minor replacement parts; metal smoothly rusted or lightly pitted in places, cleaned; principal lettering, numerals and design on metal legible; lightly scratched, bruised or minor cracks repaired; in good working order.

Description:

Also known as "Second Allon Conversion". Dated 1866 on the breechblock and 1864 on the lock plate. Fixed front sight and folding adjustable rear sight. The breech block screw has been replaced. Standard markings and features. The ramrod is missing and the wood has been cleaned.
