Description:

1) Inscribed band leader's baton, 55" in total length, with an engraved silver and brass tip, ebony shaft and green and red wire wrap. The head is 11" tall, silver finished brass, with a lion atop a rock sitting on an engraved ball, with the inscription "Presented to H.M. Mathers From Seymore Hicks. Nov 29th 1916". Very good, with some light chipping of the wood and high edge wear on the brass. 2) Baton, 44" tall, nickel tip, black painted shaft, yellow cord wrap and a nickel ball. Very good, with some scratching and paint loss on the shaft, and some dents and scuffs on the ball. 3) Baton, 48" long, iron tip with brass band, burl walnut shaft, copper cord wrap, and brass ball with Philadelphia makers marks. Very good, with some light wear and a few dings and scratches on the ball. From the Will Hoffeld Collection.
