Manufactured in 1876. Standard markings without a visible caliber marking and standard features for the First Model carbine with blade front and two leaf rear sights. The magazine spring is absent, the stock has been sanded and there is some minor pitting along the edges of the barrel and the forend.

OE - GOOD - some minor replacement parts; metal smoothly rusted or lightly pitted in places, cleaned; principal lettering, numerals and design on metal legible; lightly scratched, bruised or minor cracks repaired; in good working order.

WB - WOOD IS BETTER FOR THE PERCENT OF FINISH RATING GIVEN

Introduced in 1886. Standard markings with early style "--MODEL 1886--" on the upper tang, sporting rear sight, dovetail rear sight and smooth straight grip walnut stock with a chip on the left of the tang. All metal surfaces have been cleaned bright with "9" being the only visible number in the serial number, the rest appears to have been cleaned off.

Standard markings without a visible caliber marking and standard features for the second model with old engraved script "Night Hawk" on the left side of the receiver. The stock has been freshened and all metal surfaces cleaned to a bright finish with some minor pin prick pitting.
