Produced in 1864, the year of the Colt factory fire. Globs of molten brass on the barrel and cylinder covering part of the address. Patent markings and cylinder scene visible. Grips absent, action frozen. From the Will Hoffeld Collection, purchased from Bill Luther in 1974. Information provided by the consignor indicates that this revolver was in Colt's shipping department on February 4, 1864, and that the brass is from other Colt revolvers that had their grip straps melt.
