Siam (Thailand) contracted with the Japanese to produce a Mauser design 8mm bolt action rifle at the Tokyo Arsenal, so these rifles have both the outward appearance of a 98K Mauser style rifle but with the markings of the Japanese factory at the Tokyo Arsenal. It has a unique action dust cover that slides forward over the front receiver ring and rear of the barrel to exposed the action. It has the typical Mauser 98K style shaped receiver and bolt with the typical two piece tang designs of the Japanese Type 38 rifles. It has a long tangent rear sight with an inverted "v" front sight. The stock is a full-length military style with finger grooves on the side with a short handguard on top; clear and deep Siamese acceptance proof behind the trigger guard.

Arsenal refurbished with most of the dull military blue finish with just minor edge and handling wear. The stock and handguard are both in fair condition showing minor chips, dings and handling marks. All markings are crisp and clear.
