The factory letter confirms the revolver was in .45 caliber with a 4 3/4" barrel and nickel plated finish when sold to Thompson Hardware Co. and was the sole gun of this type in the shipment to Belknap Hardware & Mfg. Co. in Louisville, Kentucky, on March 20, 1925, in order 21480/1. Includes a custom display case carved by Sam Turner and fitted to the revolver with a fitted Custer County, Montana, deputy sheriff's badge, deactivated set of six cartridges, State of Montana and long horn pins, and a key. Additional included documentation indicates it was sold at the closing of the Old West Museum in Custer County, Montana, in the 1970s and had been donated by Ester Jackson on July 1958 and was originally owned by local Deputy Sheriff Jack Jackson. One of the documents states, "Later he became friends with actor Clark Gable and was used in Gable's movie 'The Tall Men.'"
