Factory letter lists revolver with a 7 1/2" barrel in .38 caliber and blue finish when shipped to Arthur H. Douglas (address unavailable) on Sept. 7, 1887. This shipment was for two guns; the second gun is in the previous lot. According to consignor both revolvers were discovered in the eastern U.S. The barrel is inscribed with the initials "PSD" on the left side. A possible contender for Arthur H. Douglas is the "prosperous and energetic young man, owner of several production mines in New Mexico; also two or three stamp mills," as referenced by the 31 Oct. 1887 edition of The Saint Paul Globe.
