Description:

Manufactured by Robert Johnson of Middletown, Connecticut. Blade front and dished rear sights, swivel mounted ramrod, "U.S./JH/P" inspection marks on the barrel, maker's markings over "1841" on the lock, and "JH" and "WAT" oval script inspection cartouches on the left flat. This model was the final flintlock martial pistol used in the U.S. and is certainly among the most attractive single shot military pistols ever made.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with mostly bright iron surfaces including the casehardened surfaces, some scattered patches of light freckling, and visible markings in the metal. The stock is very fine, with defined edges, some scattered minor nicks and scratches, and exceptionally crisp cartouches. Mechanically excellent.
