This example was manufactured by Henry Aston & Co. and features two distinct oval script "WN" (Walter North) and "WAT" (William A. Thornton) inspection cartouches, matching "1852" dates on the lock and barrel tang, and marked "MS/US/SM/P" on top of the breech with "JH" inspection initials on the left of the breech.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with scattered mild brown spotting on the iron surfaces with otherwise sharp edges and markings and attractive untouched golden aged patina on the brass. Stock is very fine with distinct edges overall, some light dents and handling marks, and exceptionally crisp cartouches. Mechanically excellent.
