Manufactured in 1862. The top barrel flat is marked "ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA.". The left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT". The cylinder has the stagecoach hold up scene and "COLTS PATENT/No. 198808". The complete matching serial number is marked on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, and back strap while the partial number is also on the wedge, loading lever, and cylinder pin. Includes an unmarked brown leather slim Jim holster.

Very good, retains 30% original blue finish concentrated on the barrel flaking to a smooth gray and brown patina on the balance, half of the original case colors with smooth gray patina on the balance, 40% original silver finish with golden aged patina on the exposed brass, a few patches of minor pitting, and sharp markings and edges in the metal overall. Grip is also very good with minor edge wear, a few small chips at the edges, and scattered handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Included holster is fine with light age related wear and some cracking.
