Manufactured c. 1780-1800. The bore flares to .75 caliber at the muzzle and is around .50 caliber in the main bore. The barrel has London proof marks on the upper left flat, "ROYAL EXCHANGE LONDON" on top, some light engraving, the ramrod fitted along the right, and a folding snap bayonet underneath. The bayonet locks via a latch in the forend released using the small trigger ahead of the trigger guard. The brass lock is signed "BENNETT" at center and has some martial engraving and a frizzen spring roller. The furniture is brass with light engraving.

Very good with aged patina on the brass, dark brown patina on most of the iron, some mild pitting, and general mild overall wear. Aside from the repaired cracks above the nose and tail of the lock, the stock is also very good and has mild wear, including scrapes and dings. The bayonet mechanism has some minor repairs and needs some adjustments to get it to lock when released. The lock is mechanically fine.
