Description:

Manufactured in 1917, this pistol was part of a 1,000 gun shipment to San Antonio Arsenal on 30 April 1917, just a couple weeks after the official entry of the United States into World War I. Included with the pistol is a factory letter for a pistol in the same shipment (serial number 145073). The left side of the slide is marked with the two-line, two-block patent dates and address, with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations. The right side of the slide has the standard model and army nomenclature. The U.S. property marking is on the left of the frame along with the "GHS" inspector's mark and the serial number is marked on the right. The blued barrel is marked "P/H" on the chamber hood. It is fitted with a checkered slide release and thumb safety, long smooth trigger, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop, wide checkered hammer, a pair of diamond pattern checkered walnut grips, and a two-tone pinned base magazine.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retains 98% of the original blue finish with some very light edge wear, some light flaking near the serration, and a very light takedown mark. The grips are also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
