Manufactured in Saint Etienne and subsequently imported by Century Arms as a semi-automatic version of the standard French infantry rifle from 1978 to 2016. Built as a bullpup design and making use of composite and alloy construction, the FAMAS (Fusil d'Assaut de la Manufacture d'Armes de Saint Etienne, Assault Rifle made by MAS) was one of the most distinctive infantry rifles of the Cold War. There were only an estimated 50 to 100 of these rifles imported to the United States, making this an exceptionally rare collectors item. Features adjustable blade front and peep rear sights with flip-up night sight, bird cage flash hider, integral carry handle and bipod legs, reversible cheek piece and a rubberized buttplate. Per the consignor, this rifle has not been shot since he first purchased this rifle in 1987 and fired 20 rounds. Includes green canvas sling, generic soft case, a cleaning kit, instruction manual, and seven extra magazines.

Excellent, holding 99% plus original matte finish with minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. This is a superbly preserved example of a military firearm fervently sought after and in short supply in the United States!
