Description:

Mostly manufactured in Germany, a small number of Luger pistols are known to have been routed through Switzerland after World War I, where they could be fitted with barrels that exceeded the lengths permitted by the Treaty of Versailles prior to further export to Abercrombie & Fitch Company of New York, then the largest outfitting and sporting goods firm in the United States. The barrels were manufactured by Hammerli, who marked the barrels "ABERCROMBIE & FITCH Co NEW YORK MADE IN SWITZERLAND" on top. Features fixed blocked blade front and notch rear sights, Swiss "cross in starburst" on the chamber, and a "DWM" monogram on the front toggle. Extractor marked "GELADEN" and safety polished bright in lower position. The small parts are straw finished, and the nickel finished magazine is stamped "GERMANY" on the hardwood base.

Rating Definition:

Exceptionally fine, retaining 85% plus original blue and 70% straw finishes with light edge wear, scattered faint spotting. The grips are very fine with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
