Description:

Manufactured for commercial sale, this DWM Model 1906 Luger pistol is marked "Manufacture Francaise d'Armes & Cycles de Saint-Etienne" on top of the barrel; this firm (sometimes shortened as "St. Etienne" or "Manufrance") was a major French mail order retailer, including of imported handguns. No significant orders came from the French firm, with the rising tensions between France and Germany a likely factor. Features fixed serrated blade front and notch rear sights, with "Manufacture Francaise d'Armes & Cycles de Saint-Etienne" on top of the barrel. The top of the chamber area is undated, and the standard "DWM" logo is marked on the front toggle. The barrel, receiver, bolt, toggle link, and insides of both checkered walnut grips are "crown/N" proofed. Extractor marked "GELADEN" and bright polished lower safety position. The magazine is fitted with an unmarked wood base.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 85% plus original blue and 70% straw finishes with light spotting, edge wear and handling marks. The grips are also very fine with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
